Dr. Carlos Zamora earned his medical degree from the Universidad de San Carlos in Guatemala and a doctoral degree from Kobe University, Japan. He then trained in Diagnostic Radiology and completed a 2-year Neuroradiology fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.
Currently, Dr. Zamora serves as Professor of Radiology and Division Chief of Neuroradiology at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. His clinical expertise includes neuro-oncology, phakomatoses, skull base pathology, and neuroradiology education. He has also participated in international outreach through the ARRS Global Partner Society Program and the Ann G. Osborn ASNR International Outreach Professor program.
In addition to his academic and clinical duties, Dr. Zamora has served as the Neuroradiology Section Editor for the American Journal of Roentgenology for over 2 years.
