Franceschi Dinko

Dr. Franceschi is Chief of Nuclear Medicine and PET-CT/MRI at Stony Brook University Hospital/Renaissance School of Medicine. He completed his Nuclear Medicine residency at Harvard, Joint Program in Nuclear Medicine, and was awarded the Nuclear Medicine Research Fellowship by International Atomic Energy Agency, completed at Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions. Prior to joining Stony Brook University Hospital faculty, Dr. Franceschi worked as an Associate Scientist within SPECT and PET research facilities at Brookhaven National Laboratory. He is the Chair of Stony Brook University Radioactive Drug Research Committee.

His clinical and research interests are primarily focused on the use of advanced hybrid imaging modalities and use of novel PET tracers in patients with cancer and neurodegenerative diseases. He is particularly interested in theranostics and has worked with brain PET and SPECT since the early 1990s. Dr. Franceschi is senior editor of the textbook PET/MR Imaging: A Case-Based Approach, (Springer Verlag, 2018), and Hybrid PET/MR Neuroimaging: A Comprehensive Approach (Springer Nature, 2022).
