Fatterpekar Girish

Dr. Girish Fatterpekar is Professor of Radiology, and has been Section Chief Neuroradiology at NYU Langone Medical Center, New York since 2018. 

His main areas of interest are advanced permeability GRASP imaging in evaluating intracranial lesions, perfusion DSC imaging in evaluating high grade gliomas and temporal bone imaging. A well-known international Speaker, his scholarly work includes more than 100 peer and non-peer reviewed articles, more than 130 scientific presentations, and more than 40 invited articles and book chapters. He is on the editorial board of 2 journals and a reviewer for nine journals. He is also the author of three books. 

Dr. Fatterpekar has received several research awards including Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude and Summa Cum Laude awards from the ASNR and RSNA, and the Norman E. Leeds award for the best scientific paper from ENRS. He has also received numerous teaching awards including Outstanding Teacher award from Mount Sinai School of Medicine for 2008 and 2009, and the Attending of the Year for 2010. In 2015, he also received the Teacher of the Year award from the NYU Department of Radiology.

Dr. Fatterpekar has been the Section Editor for the AJNR Case-of-the-Week and – Month. He has served on the Education Program Committee of ASHNR, the Scientific Program Committee of ASNR and RSNA, and has been the President of the Eastern Neuroradiological Society. He currently serves as the Secretary for the New York Roentgen Society.
