Bozzao Allesandro

Alessandro Bozzao is Full Professor of Neuroradiology at Sapienza University of Rome and director of the Department of Neuroradiology at Sant’ Andrea University Hospital in Rome.  

The scientific activity of Prof. Alessandro Bozzao concerns studies in the field of neuroradiology. His research activity has been particularly dedicated to the study of degenerative pathology of the spine with regard to the natural history of lumbar disc herniations and to cerebral ischemic vascular pathology both with conventional techniques such as CT and angiography and with functional techniques such as Magnetic Resonance Imaging with diffusion and perfusion. He has also been interested in the study of demyelinating, cerebrovascular and neoplastic diseases with the use of advanced MRI sequences. 

Prof. Bozzao has participated as a speaker in numerous National and International Scientific Congresses including, most notably, those of the Radiological Society of Norh America RSNA, European Neuroradiology, American Neuroradiology, European Radiology ECR, National Radiology and National Neuroradiology. This activity has resulted in more than 300 communications at national and international Conferences and Courses as a speaker, author or contributor of which numerous by invitation. His research achievements are the subject of more than 232 publications in national and international journals (indexed on Scopus) with an H-index of 41 and 6341 citations. He is or has been a reviewer for the Journals European Radiology, Journal of Headache and Pain, Neuroradiology and Medical Radiology. Since 2005, he has been a reviewer for the Steering Committee for Research Evaluation of Italian Ministry od Research (MIUR). Since 2005, he has been senior editor of the Neuroradiology Section of Eurorad, the official clinical case history WEB site of the European Society of Radiology.
